This week transfers occurred. This happens every 6 weeks on a Friday. There were 15 that finished their mission and went home but only 7 arrived. Therefore, 4 different areas would need to temporarily be closed. Leading up to transfers the missionaries are somewhat nervous as they wait to learn if they are being transferred. To soften the blow Kim, had invited the branch president’s family + the missionaries to dinner on Thursday night. While they were at our apartment they received the group email which includes the transfer board for the entire mission. Fortunately, there were no changes in our area this time…
It was a great meal of bbq chicken, potatoes, garlic bread & salad.
While Kim, finalized the meal preparations I went with Elders Quarnberg and Williams to visit a member that lives 45 minutes away to give him a blessing. This is the view from that area.
In English class this week Kim, faced timed Brooke and Ellory (while their family was at Six Flags in Texas) The goal was to have the class introduce themselves and to also ask similar information from Ellory. As you can see from their faces they loved this activity!
This week we went on a walk/hike that included a wooden walkway with many stairs.
On Saturday, June 18th was the big young adult activity held in Mirandela (45 minutes from Vila Real, 1/2 way to Braganca) at the river beach. Delton, planned, organized and promoted this. He and this group of young adults reside in Braganca which is a 1 hr bus ride away. They played volleyball, swam, toured the city and ate. Kim’s cake is on the picnic bench and was enjoyed at the end of the day.

SCRIPTURE POWER
As Nephi finishes his record he includes his prophecy about Jesus Christ and how He will minister among the Nephites together with the coming forth of the Book of Mormon.
He emphasizes: “the plainness of my prophesying” (2 Ne. 31:2) “I give unto you a prophecy,…my soul delighteth in plainness” (2 Ne. 25:4) as he concludes his prophecy he states: “And now I Nephi, make an end of my prophesying..” (2 Ne. 31:1) “my soul delighteth in plainness” (2 Ne. 31:3)
Throughout these 6 chapters he reminds us that this is his prophecy. “And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies..” (2 Ne. 25:26) “But behold, I prophesy unto you concerning the last days” (2 Ne. 26:14) “I would prophesy somewhat more” (2 Ne. 30:3)
What a blessing it is to have the Book of Mormon and the numerous prophets such as Nephi who’s goal is to teach us: “until they shall be persuaded to believe in Christ, the Son of God, and the atonement, which is infinite for all mankind” (2 Ne. 25:16)
